AFTER PAUL SAYS HOWDY IN VERSES ONE AND TWO, HE IS A VERY HAPPY CAMPER.
NOTICE HOW HE PATS THEIR HEADS AND GIVES THEM PLENTY OF ATTA BOYS. WITH
THIS DONE HE JUMPS RIGHT INTO SOME HARD CORE THEOLOGY. IN VERSES FIVE THROUGH NINE HE ADDRESSES THEIR POSITIONAL SANCTIFICATION. IN NINE THROUGH ELEVEN HE DEALS WITH THEIR PRACTICAL SANCTIFICATION. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE SHOWING THAT THEY UNDERSTOOD THIS TRUTH BUT I THINK THEY DID BECAUSE OF THEIR RESPONSE TO PAUL'S TEACHINGS. DO YOU THINK THE SAME COULD BE SAID ABOUT THE CHURCH TODAY? KNOWN IN THE CHURCH, THERE IS NO DESIRE TO WANT TO KNOW IT. IT IS LIKE GROWING UP CATHOLIC AND NEVER KNOWING ABOUT SACERDOTALISM. WHAT ARE YOU SEEING HERE? IF WE LOOK CLOSE WE CAN GET FURTHER INSIGHTS AS TO WHAT PAUL MEANT BY THE PHRASE, "IN CHRIST"

Hal...you posted this on Monday and here it is Saturday night before I comment. Forgive my tardiness. Glad to see your post though and looking forward into responding (once I am at a place with a Bible on my lap). Am currently sitting in my mother-in-law's rocker.... in Connecticut...here to celebrate her 80th birthday. Will comment on the passage soon.
